Shooting Stars, Vote Event Changes, ToB Changes, QoL and Bug Fixes

Hello everyone,

Tonight's patch introduces a new way of training Mining: Shooting stars, as well as a lot of highly-requested quality of life and bug fixes. We will begin working on DT2 bosses and it should be the next content patch.

On another note, we will be undergoing maintenance on Thursday, February 1, 8:00 AM UTC and it should last about 2 hours. We will use this maintenance to switch our dedi provider as OVH has proven unreliable when it comes to routing and connection stability.

  • Shooting Stars
    • Stars are scheduled to crash every 90 minutes.
    • The first 5 people to either mine or prospect the crashed star will receive bonus for "discovering" the star.
      • Formula: 40 x Mining lvl x Star size mod x XP rate
      • The XP is not multiplied during XP events or skill of the day.
      • Star size mods: T6=1.25 - T7=1.4 - T8=1.5 - T9=1.65
    • ::star command can be used to teleport next to the shooting star.
    • Crashed star sightings will be broadcasted in chatbox.
      • The broadcast can be disabled by turning off the "World News" game tab chat filter.
    • Stardust can be traded in to Dusuri in Falador's Mining Guild.
      • Soft clay pack: 10 stardust
      • Bag full of gem: 80 stardust
      • Celestial ring: 2000 stardust
      • Star fragment: 3000 stardust
      • Dragon pickaxe: 30,000 stardust
  • Theatre of Blood Changes
    • Sugadinti Blood spawn changes:
      • Total spawns capped to 8 in Hardmode and 6 in normal mode.
      • Spawn rate nerfed: 1/3 >>> 1/10 if blood splat stepped on - 1/20 otherwise.
      • If no one takes damage from the blood splats on floor, blood spawn is capped at 1 for that "batch."
    • Player combat is now stopped when Nylocas Vasilias and Prinkipas change form.
    • Xarpus' phase 2 orb projectile targeting is now more consistent.
    • Verzik Vitur's occupied area during web phase is now "blocked" until the attack is over.
      • Players will not be able to walk underneath Verzik during this phase.
      • Any player underneath Verzik when they first arrive to the center of the room will be shoved out of the way. (no damage)
    • Added an attack delay straight after Verzik Vitur's web phase is over to avoid Verzik from instantly attacking nearby players.
    • Verzik Vitur Vortexes will now spawn and respawn at least 5 tiles away from their target.
    • It is now easier to "pop" Verzik Vitur's Nylocas spiders.
  • Prifddinas Changes
    • Added npc spawns around the city.
    • Added the ability to pickpocket elves.
      • Crystal shard: 1/35
      • Enhanced crystal teleport seed: 1/1024
      • Both of these rates are affected by personal drop rate modifier.
    • The Singing Bowl Recipe book next to the Singing Bowl can now be read to see the items required for the available crystal items.
  • Vote Event Changes
    • Vote-triggered event rate buffed: 1/100 >>> 1/70.
    • Vote-triggered events can now be any of the events from Diversion coins instead of being limited to Skill XP, Zalcano, Wintertodt, Tempoross, Nightmare and Treasure Trails.
    • Vote-triggered events will now re-roll if the event cannot be started due to overlapping (i.e. if there's another XP event active).
  • Drop Viewer Changes
    • Added the following to "Mystery" category
      • Herb Box
      • PvM Mystery Box
      • Seed packs
    • Added new "Others" category. Currently contains Discovery relic rates.
  • PvP Changes
    • Using special attack in PvP will now apply a 10-tick cooldown before you can teleport.
    • Removed ability to manually remove skull through ::unskull and Cursed altar. This was changed due to making it too easy to rag players in the Wilderness.
    • Slightly buffed Ranged accuracy in PvP.
  • Script Changes
    • To address the issue where scripts randomly break (raids, bosses, etc), I have rewritten the last bit of the underlying system. This will in worst case allow us to pinpoint the issue and in best case fixes the issue all together. Similar to the instance change from last patch, this is also a big change, though it may not seem like it. So I will be keeping a close eye on the server to make sure it's running as it should.
  • Miscellaneous Changes
    • Olm's portal attack during solos is now limited to a 10 tile radius.
    • Warden's phase 2 core will no longer grant points after the third time the Warden has been downed.
    • Added a toggleable confirmation dialog when accepting Grand Exchange offers.
    • Added a Mark of Grace rate multiplier server event.
    • Added Mark of Grace and Blood Money event options to Diversion Coin.
    • Double ammo mould has been added to Skill store for 3k points.
    • Phantom Muspah has been added to the "Boss" Discovery research class.
    • Phantom Muspah has been added to the Collection Log.
    • Phantom Muspah teleport option has been added to its Combat Achievements boss details page.
    • Bone dagger special is now functional.
    • Coins received from pickpocketing has been reduced. Sadly, this had to be done as we've had an increase in macros/bots abusing heroes.
    • Smiths' outfit pieces has been added to Zalcano in Drop Viewer.
    • Mithril dragon Dragon full helm rate has been buffed: 1/12,500 >>> 1/500.
    • Dragon full helm has been added as a drop for the following:
      • Adamant dragon: 1/500
      • Rune dragon: 1/500
      • Vorkath: 1/1000
      • King black dragon: 1/1000
    • Granite helm has been added as a drop to Gargoyles: 1/65
    • Zalcano's tertiary drop rates are now affected by personal drop rate modifiers:
      • Uncut onyx
      • Zalcano shard
      • Crystal tool seed
      • Smiths' outfit
    • Elidinis' ward (f) can now be dismantled.
    • Elidinis' ward (f) will now be detached and dropped properly when lost in PvP.
    • Red naval set has been added to Vote store.
    • The "discard" button in retrieval interface (such as Tombs of Amascut) has been removed.
    • Increased visual size of Festive Cracker wear model.
  • Quality of Life
    • Sapphire Mystery Boxes are now stackable.
    • Clan chat owners will now bypass "bans" from their own clan.
    • Clan chat owners can now open their clan "Ban" list even if they're not currently in a clan chat.
    • Auto-retaliation in PvM will now work as soon as your target is dead. You would previously have to wait about 5 ticks after your target was dead before auto-retaliating on another target.
    • Added ability to wield Queen's Secateurs; p.s. yes its passive is working as intended!
    • Improved cache downloader protocol. This should result in faster cache downloading when a cache update occurs, as well as fix an issue some people had where they needed to restart the client in order to get past login screen the first time they launched the server.
    • Attempting to leave Yin-Yang group while partner is offline will now inform that both players must be online.
    • The following items will no longer be "recycled" in ;;lostitems
      • Dragon sword
      • Dragon chainbody
      • Steam battlestaff
      • Infinity set pieces
      • Seers ring
      • Hydra tail
    • Blighted saradomin brew model brightness has been increased.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed Tokkul shop purchases not filling Collection Log.
    • Fixed stackable items within Collection Log not being properly accounted for.
    • Fixed typo in diversion coin Gauntlet event multiplier: +50% >>> +25%.
    • Fixed the visual issue where Chambers of Xeric personal points would roll over after 131k points were reached.
    • Fixed Ring of Wealth (i) Blood Money perk requirement dialog stating you need Topaz instead of Emerald rank.
    • Fixed Jewel of the Sun raid-level requirement description being incorrect in Drop Viewer.
    • Fixed spacing in Cancel Voucher chat dialog.
    • Fixed Tumeken's slayer kit being tradeable.
    • Fixed Sapphire dragon bolts (e) effect not proc'ing.
    • Phantom Muspah will no longer transform during its teleporting/lightning cloud attack phase.
    • Disabled Sacrifice perks are no longer required to unlock Serenity pet.
